About US
Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife was founded in 1995 for the care and rehabilitation of injured and
orphaned wildlife. At that time, we were located in a very rural remote area and there weren’t
that many any rescue groups in the area. Besides getting calls to rescue the injured wild
animals we were always getting calls to rescue domestic animals, especially cats. Back in the
1990’s we were the only group that would take in FIV and Feline Leukemia cats. Humane
Societies and other rescue groups would just euthanize these cats because their lifespan could
be between 5 months and 10 years. Also, these cats should be kept amongst themselves in
their group because of the chance of infecting healthy cats. Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife was
located on 14 acres so we built these cats their own safe haven.
In 2016 Uma’s Haven Cat Sanctuary was formed under Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife Association
out of need to help the countless unadoptable cats we were looking after and giving them a
forever home. We formed Uma’s with the hope that being a separate unit we would be eligible
to get funding and grants under domestic animal groups.
Uma’s name came from a cat we rescued through Pinal County Animal Control that was badly
abused. Sadly, she only lived to be 1 ½ years old but in that short time she spread so much love
to all that met her. It was only fitting we named the cat sanctuary after her.
